The excitement of the Carnival will again be part of Mountain Festival. The rides, the lights, the fun! There will be rides and fun for all ages.

The Carnival will be located at the corner of Robinson and D Streets across from Wells School Playground. Carnival hours are Friday, August 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday, August 19th from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 20th from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Presale tickets at a reduced price will be available at the Chamber office on July 24th. Presale tickets will be 20 tickets for $15.00, at the carnival booth ticket prices will be 1 ticket for $1.25, 20 tickets for $20.00 and 50 tickets for $40.00. Sunday, August 20th will be "Pay One Price" day from 12-8 p.m. The presale price for a wristband that will enable you to ride as often as you like will be $20.00; on Sunday at carnival booth cost is $25.00. Wrist Bands are good for Sunday, August 20th only from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Come by the Chamber office and get your Carnival presale tickets at a reduced price when they go on sale on July 25th. The last day to purchase your tickets and wristbands at this special price will be Thursday, August 17th at 3:00 p.m. For more information call 661-822-4180.

August 18th and 19th - V.F.W. Live Music and Dinner/Dance

Start your weekend on Friday, August 19th with live music and dancing. On Saturday night, come and enjoy a delicious dinner, then dance the night away under the stars to another of your favorite country bands. Dinner is served starting at 6:00 pm. The V.F.W. is located at 221 W. Tehachapi Blvd. For information, call 661-822-7500.

August 19th - Mountain Gallop 5K/10K

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District will once again present the Mountain Gallop 5K/10K on Saturday, August 20th. Entrants will meet at Philip Marx Central Park, corner of Mojave & E Streets. Registration begins at 6:00 a.m. and the race will start at 7:30 a.m.

Early Registration $30 for 5K / $35 for 10K. Day of Race Registration $35 for 5K / $40 for 10K. Includes championship timing, refreshments, technical race shirt, great course, finisher's medal and awesome swag.

August 19th - Pancake Breakfast

Before heading to any of the Festival events on Saturday, August 19th, come and enjoy a pancake breakfast, sponsored by the American Legion Post 221, and prepared & served by the Royal Rangers of Tehachapi in the Veterans Hall at 125 East F Street. Breakfast will be available from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. The Royal Rangers will be serving their traditional "all you can eat" Mountain Festival Pancake Breakfast, which is sponsored by the American Legion Post 221. Pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice will be available within steps of the festival parade. Tickets will be on sale in July and advance ticket prices are $5.00 for adults while children 10 years and under can eat for just $4.00. Tickets bought at the door will cost 50 cents more.

The Royal Ranger is a Christian organization for boys, ages five through fourteen. Camping out is among their many activities, along with trips to Knott's Berry Farm and Magic Mountain. The boys also participate in an annual derby involving model cars handmade from wood blocks. The Royal Rangers hold their meetings at the Christian Life Assembly Church on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Contact Christian Life Assembly, at 822-3813 for more information. Tickets will also be available at the Chamber office.

August 19th - Festival Parade

Come see the local celebrities, fun floats, high school band, horses, clowns, and much more. The entries will be judged and trophies awarded to winners. Don't forget to stop by the Gazebo at Central Park for the announcement of winners. The parade route will be on F Street, from Mulberry Street to Hayes Street. So grab your blanket or lawn chair and spend the day with family and friends in beautiful Central Park. Don't forget to stop by the Chamber tent and purchase your "Official Mountain Festival T Shirt". All this will take place at Philip Marx Central Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. ADMISSION IS FREE....

The Tehachapi Mountain Quilters presents the 2017 Quilt Show "Kaleidoscope of Color" in conjunction with the Tehachapi Mountain Festival. August 20th - 20th Annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival® Car & Truck Show

The 20th Annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival® Car & Truck Show "Thunder on the Mountain" will return to downtown Tehachapi at Green & F Streets. The show will be held on Sunday, August 20th from 9 am to 3 pm.

Pre-Registration Fee is $35. The first 150 to register receive a free T-Shirt. *Registration is limited to 300 Entries.* The registration form should be mailed no later than August 10th to ensure receipt by the Car Show Committee. Parking is *First Come, First Served*. If you want to park with your club or group of friends, plan to arrive together and park. Event parking begins at 6:00 a.m.

August 18th & 19th - PRCA Rodeo

Come and celebrate the western heritage of Tehachapi at the 53rd Annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival© PRCA Rodeo August 19-20 at the Tehachapi Event Center and Rodeo Grounds on Dennison Road.

Family members of all ages will thrill to the high flying, head jerking, spine tingling excitement that only a day at the rodeo can bring. Even the most seasoned rodeo fans will be delighted by the antics of the clowns and amazed at the bravery of the bullfighters.

Festivities begin on Friday, August 18th at 7:00 pm (gates open at 5:00 pm), followed by more action on Saturday starting at 6:00 pm (gates open at 4:00 pm).

Tickets will be available at a discounted rate at Albertson's Customer Service Booth, the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, Hemme Hay in Tehachapi and Lancaster. In Bakersfield at Emporium Western Store, and Boot Barn in Bakersfield and Lancaster. Presale ticket prices are $13 for adults and $10 for children 5-12, seniors 60 and over and active military with ID.

Tickets will be on sale at the gate prior to both performances. Gate prices are $15 for adults and $12 for children and seniors.
