August 20th and 21st - V.F.W. Live Music and Dinner/Dance

Start your weekend on Friday, August 20th with live music and dancing. On Saturday night, come and enjoy a delicious dinner, then dance the night away under the stars to another of your favorite country bands. Dinner is served starting at 6:00 pm. August 21st - Mountain Gallop 5K

The Tehachapi Valley Recreation and Parks District will once again present the Mountain Gallop 5K on Saturday, August 21st. Registration info coming soon Entrants will meet at Aspen Builders Inc Activity Center/West Park, 410 West D St. There will be a rolling start beginning at 7:00 AM until 9:00 AM. You may start your run anytime between these times.

Registration fee is $35. Includes championship timing, refreshments, technical race shirt, great course, finisher's medal and awesome swag. Not Guaranteed a shirt after August 18.

August 21st - Pancake Breakfast

Before heading to any of the Festival events on Saturday, August 21st, come and enjoy a pancake breakfast, sponsored by the American Legion Post 221, and prepared & served by the Kids Clubs of Tehachapi in the Veterans Hall at 125 East F Street. Breakfast will be available from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. The Girls and Boys of Kids Clubs will be serving their traditional "all you can eat" Mountain Festival Pancake Breakfast, which is sponsored by the American Legion Post 221. Pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice will be available within steps of the festival parade. Tickets will be on sale in August and advance ticket prices are $6.00 for adults while children 10 years and under can eat for just $4.00. Tickets bought at the door will cost $1.00 more.

Kids Clubs provides Christian training for boys and girls ages five through fourteen. At Kids Club children learn how to stregthen themselves spiritually, physically, mentally and socially, while equipping families to become the spiritual epicenter of a childs life. During weekly meetins, children learn a variety of Bible lessons and life skills as well as participate in outings such as hiking, fishing, backpacking, derby car races, sleepovers and community service.

Kids Clubs meet at the Christian Life Assembly Church on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. September through May. Contact Christian Life Assembly, at 822-3813 for more information or to purchase tickets.

Come see the local celebrities, fun floats, high school band, horses, clowns, and much more. The entries will be judged and trophies awarded to winners. Don't forget to stop by the Entertainment Stage at Central Park for the announcement of winners. The parade route will be on F Street, from Mulberry Street to Hayes Street. Don't forget to stop by the Chamber tent and purchase your "Official Mountain Festival T Shirt". August 22nd - Thunder on the Mountain Car Show

The "Thunder on the Mountain" Car Show presented by Race Communications, will return to downtown Tehachapi at Green & F Streets. The show will be held on Sunday, August 22nd from 9 am to 3 pm.

The show attracts cars from all over SoCal. Hot rods, classic, customs, muscle cars and more...

The show is part of our annual fundraiser for the Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the event benefit the organization and local businesses in the region.

In addition to an amazing display of cars, the show features raffles and prizes, and a SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE by Ian Roussel from Full Custom Garage!

August 20th and 21st - PRCA Rodeo

Come and celebrate the western heritage of Tehachapi at the 57th Annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival© PRCA Rodeo August 20-21 at the Tehachapi Event Center and Rodeo Grounds on Dennison Road.

Family members of all ages will thrill to the high flying, head jerking, spine tingling excitement that only a day at the rodeo can bring. Even the most seasoned rodeo fans will be delighted by the antics of the clowns and amazed at the bravery of the bullfighters.

Festivities begin on Friday, August 20th at 7:00 pm (gates open at 5:00 pm), followed by more action on Saturday starting at 5:00 pm (gates open at 3:00 pm).
